Home again
Home again
Jiggity Jig
McAvoys coach pulled up at Moneyrea PS at 10.30 pm last night to a welcome party of parents and siblings.
What a great week we enjoyed with this fantastic bunch of children . Their behaviour, kindness, manners and 'can do' attitude made this a memorable trip.
We received positive comments wherever we visited
I owe a debt of gratitude to Miss Daly, Mrs Floyd, Mrs McCoy and Robin McAvoy our coach driver for the week. These folk went above and beyond the call of duty to make the trip special.
Hopefully, all are rested up after the rigours of the week and all set for the last two weeks of school.
Day 5 - The Landmark Centre
Day 4 - Unnatural Treasure Hunt
Nine teams on the hunt to find 10 unnatural objects around the boating pond. The groups exhibited some amazing teamwork and hunting and memorising techniques.
Day 4 - Beach 🏖 Party at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre
Day 4 - Working Sheepdogs at Kin Craig
Wow this never ceases to amaze me - the synchronisation between man and dogs - amazing to witness.
And to make the visit even more memorable we were joined by a very friendly Highland Coo Calf.
Day 4 - Feeding the Reindeer
DAY 4 Loch Insh Outdoor Centre - a short trek up the Cairngorms to feed the reindeer herd.
Day 4 - Windsurfing
Day 3 - Raft-building followed by the Annual Loch INSH General Knowledge Quiz.
DAY 3 - The Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig
Today our guide, Jasper helped us understand the important role zoos play in the conservation of endangered animals.
We were able to see Polar bears 🐻❄️, tigers 🐅 , artic foxes 🦊 , snow monkeys 🙊 , snow leopards 🐆 , Przewalski Horses 🐴, Mishmi Takins, dromedaries 🐪 , elk , red deer 🦌, mountain goats 🐐. bison 🦬, and Canada Geese who just happened to be visiting.
We enjoyed our evening meal in the Carrbridge Hotel.
DAY 3 Loch Insh Outdoor Centre Adventure
Sore on the older knees but paddle boarding was a big hit with the Moneyrea crew this morning.
Day 2 - Loch Insh Outdoor Centre
The adventure continues - what could be better than somersaulting from a Jungle Float after a cooked breakfast 🍳?
Followed by a picnic lunch 🍱- the children made their own sandwiches!!!!
In the afternoon we enjoyed a visit to the Highland Folk Park where the children learned about school life between the two World Wars and crofting in the Hebrides. However, all that educational stuff was trumped by a visit to the little sweet shop. Nothing quite beats a quarter of boiled sweeties.
After refuelling in the Boathouse we headed out for an adventure canoe 🛶 on the Loch.
Archery
Day 1 - archery 🏹 and a mindful walk along the shore before supper.
Arrival at Loch Insh
Day 1 Arrived at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre around 4.30pm. Great grub and then Tubing and Archery, followed by a mindful walk and birthday 🎂 cake minus the candles.
